Securing the Frontier: The EU’s AI Cybersecurity Leaders to Watch

Europe’s AI companies are building some of the most powerful and fast-moving technology in the world, and securing them means protecting models, training data, and products that change by the hour. The four cybersecurity leaders below run security at a frontier AI lab, an AI app builder, an AI video company, and an AI developer platform, from Paris, Stockholm, and Copenhagen. Their backgrounds reflect how new the field is. One researched compiler-level exploit defenses at France’s national cybersecurity agency. Another built machine learning models before leading Shopify’s first AI security project. A third co-founded a crypto portfolio tracker that was later acquired, and a fourth rose from DevOps to CISO at Trustpilot.

Thomas Coudray – CISO, Mistral AI

Thomas Coudray began in mobile security research at Ercom, now part of Thales, reverse-engineering device bootloaders, and at HP Wolf Security in Cambridge, where he analyzed more than 112,000 Android apps and developed new techniques for detecting kernel rootkits. At ANSSI, France’s national cybersecurity agency, he worked on compiler-based defenses against advanced exploitation. Over more than seven years at P1 Security, he led security engineering and vulnerability research on critical infrastructure worldwide, directed cyber security operations, and served as CTO, building security technology for telecom operators. As global information security director at Ledger, he led the crypto wallet maker’s security strategy, risk, compliance, and operations for three years. Coudray became CISO of Mistral AI in August 2026, building security at the pace of frontier AI, and took part in a round table at Les Assises de la Cybersécurité in 2026. Over his career he has conducted more than 70 security audits on every continent and holds the CISSP.

Igor Andriushchenko – Head of Security (CISO), Lovable

Igor Andriushchenko started out building a real-time customer churn prediction system and consulting for Microsoft and Nokia, then built a CI automation lab for intensive care and neonatal equipment at GE Healthcare. At Snow Software he moved from DevOps architect to director of engineering for quality and security, creating the company’s first application security and cloud security teams. He served as the first full-time CISO of DigitalRoute, then led Shopify’s cloud infrastructure security team and its first AI security project, safeguarding generative ML and its data platform. After serving as CISO at Telavox and Sana, he became head of security and CISO at Lovable, the Swedish AI app builder, in August 2025, overseeing security engineering, product security, compliance, detection and response, trust and safety, and abuse and fraud. On Wiz’s Crying Out Cloud podcast in 2026, he discussed protecting vibe-coded apps and the shift toward soft guardrails.

Martin Tschammer – Head of Security, Synthesia

Martin Tschammer began as a senior consultant in data analysis and computer forensics at Deloitte in Copenhagen. He went on to co-found two startups as CTO, convenience storage service gobox.dk and crypto portfolio tracker Coincall, which was used by thousands of people and acquired in 2019. He moved into cybersecurity at Truesec in Stockholm as a consultant and then cyber strategist. Tschammer became head of security at AI video company Synthesia in February 2022, leading the company to become the first to achieve ISO/IEC 42001 certification for AI management systems, and writes on security for the Synthesia blog.

Rudy Martin – Head of Security, deepset

Rudy Martin started as a network administrator at Altium Capital and in network support at SJ Berwin. He spent eight years at Trustpilot, moving from DevOps team lead through director and VP of operations and VP of site reliability engineering to CISO. After directing information security and data management at LanguageWire and advising Dreamdata on security, he spent more than four years as head of security at Maze. Martin became head of security at deepset, the AI company behind the Haystack framework, in February 2026.

Security at AI Speed

These four leaders show how security for AI companies draws on deep technical roots. Coudray and Andriushchenko bring exploit research and engineering backgrounds to companies shipping at frontier pace, while Tschammer and Martin carried startup, forensics, and operations experience into AI security leadership. As Europe’s AI industry grows, they are defining what it means to keep fast-moving AI products and the data behind them secure.
